HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK PARAMOUNT MOVING SERVICES?
For most of the year, 4 weeks ahead of your move is the best way for us to help you the most. However, during our seasonal peak — May 1 through September 30— we recommend contacting us at least 45 days in advance of your planned move.
HOW DO I PAY FOR THE MOVE?
You may choose from the following options: cash, credit card (Visa or MasterCard) certified check, or money order. PayPal and personal cheques are not accepted. Payment is needed before the truck is unloaded at the destination.
CAN I MOVE MY PET?
To comply with existing COVID restrictions and to keep your belongings free from potential virus contamination, we encourage you to transport your pets along with you in your family car.
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
A deposit is not necessary for local moves that are estimated to be completed the same day. However, a deposit is required for long-distance and cross-country moves. The deposit is fully refundable should the move be cancelled for any reason subject to prior and proper notice being given, such as sending an email or phone message. For further information, please refer to our cancellation policy.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We ask for at least a 48-hour notice to be given in order to cancel a move and you will not be subject to any charges or cancellation fees. Moves cancelled without proper and prior notice may be subject to our minimum moving charge of $250.00 or the forfeiting of your deposit.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP MOVERS?
Be assured that our movers are trained to never ask or hint about tips from our customers. Even so, our movers are allowed to accept tips from you, our customer, should you feel inclined to show them gratitude for the hard work they have given you.
In terms of what to tip the movers, there is no common amount or appropriate percentage of the bill. If they choose to tip, we would encourage our customers to tip whatever they feel is appropriate for the job that was completed.
WHERE I CAN GET BOXES FOR MOVING?
Moving boxes can be obtained directly from us. You can also purchase them at large hardware stores. When picking up your boxes, be careful about the size of your vehicle. We have found that many large and medium-sized boxes will not fit into two-door or small, four-door vehicles without having to be folded, and this can damage the structural integrity of the box.
If you are reusing old boxes or getting boxes from a retail or grocery store, check to make sure the boxes are clean, free of any contaminants (grease, food particles, bugs), and are not damaged by water, mold, or by other structural problems that could cause the box to buckle or break during the move. You may wish to save money using free or old boxes; however, you do run the risk that these substandard boxes could cause damage to your items during the move.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO PACK FOR A MOVE?
1. We suggest that you decide on a length of time that is suitable for your family and situation. For example, for a moderately-sized family home, start at least 3 weeks before your move.
2. Decide in what order you’ll pack each room: Will you pack basement things first? Will you leave bedrooms for last? Remember: give this some thought before you start packing; it will reduce your moving stress. We recommend that you pack one room at a time as the most efficient way to pack.
3. When considering where to start first, we suggest you start with the room that is used the least and work up to the room that is used the most.
4. Medicines, special documents, and other essential items, such as those that you use daily, should be packed last. However, if you lack the time and energy to pack, we have professionals professional packing services you can hire to help you.
