For most of the year, the best way to help us at Paramount Moving is to let us know when you intend to move 4 weeks ahead of time. However, during our seasonal peak — May 1 through September 30— our moving company recommends you contact us at least 45 days before the day of your planned move.
You may choose from the following options: cash, credit card (Visa or MasterCard) certified check, or money order. PayPal and personal cheques are not accepted. Please be sure to complete your payment to our moving company before the truck is unloaded at its intended destination.
Our moving company wishes to comply with existing Alberta Health COVID restrictions to keep your belongings free from potential virus contamination. Therefore, we encourages you to have any pets accompany you and your family in your own private vehicle.
For a local moves, one that is estimated to be completed the same day, no deposit is necessary. For long-distance and cross-country moves, our moving company requires a deposit This deposit is fully refundable should the move be cancelled for any reason. This refund is subject to you, our client, giving us prior and proper notice. You can advise us of this change by sending an email or leaving a phone message. If you need further information, please refer to our cancellation policy.
We ask that you, our client, give us at least a 48-hour notice to cancel a move. If you do this, you will not be subject to any charges or cancellation fees. If a client cancels a move without proper and prior notice, we will charge that client a minimum moving charge of $250.00 or withhold any deposit.
Our moving company uses professionals who are trained to never ask for–or even hint about–tips from our customers. Even so, you may feel inclined to show our movers your gratitude for the hard work they have given you. In that case, if you have something you want to give them, they will accept those gifts to prevent any offence.
In terms of what to offer the movers, there is no common amount or standard percentage of the bill. If you do choose to show your thanks, we would encourage you to offer whatever you feel is appropriate for the job that was completed. However, we want to assure you this completely up to you.
You can get moving boxes directly from us. You can also purchase them at large hardware stores. Whenever you are picking up your boxes, be careful about the size of your vehicle. We have found that many large and medium-sized boxes will not fit into two-door or small, four-door vehicles without having to be folded, or even taken apart. Changing the shape of the box can damage its structural strength.
If you are reusing old boxes, or getting boxes from a retail or grocery store, check to make sure of the following things. The boxes are: 1) clean, 2) free of any contaminants (grease, food particles, bugs), 3) undamaged by water or mold, and 4) free of any other structural problems that could cause the box to buckle or break during the move. You may wish to save money using free or old boxes; however, you do run the risk that these substandard boxes will fail to protect your items from damage or breakage during the move.

1. Decide on a length of time that is suitable for your family and situation. For example, for a moderately-sized family home, start at least 3 weeks before the date of your move.
2. Decide in what order you’ll pack each room: What room will you pack first? What room will you pack last? If you have a garage, will that be the last area that is packed? Remember: give this some thought before you start packing; it will reduce your moving stress. We recommend that you make a list of the areas that need to be packed in order of priority and then pack one room or one area at a time as the most efficient way to pack.
3. When considering where to start first, we suggest you start with the room or area that is used the least and work up to the room that is used the most. Remember a garage is like a room.
4. Medicines, special documents, and other essential items, such as those that you use daily, should be packed last.
These procedures will take a lot of time and energy, to plan and organize. However, if you lack that time and energy to pack your home, we have professionals you can hire to help you who will use our time-tested packing services.
